John came to us with eyes of despair and a heart of stone. He didn’t seem to respond to anyone, had unacceptable behavior (to describe it nicely), and would give a cold shoulder to whoever tried to reach out to him. It was like pulling teeth simply to get a small smile from him.
Slowly by slowly the chisel of love started chipping away at his heart, and it began to soften. He started to listen better, to work harder in school, and to smile more. The power of love never ceases to astound me. It is the strongest “change agent” I have ever seen.
