Parental Information:  Her father died of AIDS, and her mother (Muhenda Adronah) is infected with AIDS.  Her health is inconsistent.  She is employed as a tea plantation worker, but sometimes she is too weak to work.

Sibling Information:  She has two brothers (Tumusiime Solomon and Twesige Steven) and one sister (Sarah Komuhimbo).  

School Information:  Maria attends Living Hope Nursery and Primary School.  She enjoys going to school.

Church Information:  Maria attends Miracle Center Kyenjojo Church.  She likes going to church.

Child’s Home Duties:  Fetching water, collecting firewood, and sweeping the courtyard.

Child’s Favorite Activities:  Playing, singing, and listening to stories.

Child’s Favorite Games:  Net ball, doge ball, and hopscotch.

Child’s Favorite Food:  Posho (flour and water mixture), rice, matooke (plantains), and beef.

Child’s Career Goal:  Maria wants to be a pastor when she grows up.

Child’s Top Three Needs:  A mattress, shoes, and a bicycle.

Child is Happy When…  She studies.

Additional Information:  The mother cares for her four children.  They live alone in a one roomed grass thatched house.  Two of her children are also infected with AIDS.  Her mother says Maria’s greatest needs are milk, a bed, and a mattress.
