Parental Information:  His father and mother died of AIDS before Andrew was six months old. 

Guardian Information:  Andrew’s grandmother (Nyanjura Mary), who is weak, was left to care for the boy when the parents died.  She sells banana leaves and sometimes yellow bananas to earn money.

Sibling Information:  He has no brothers or sisters.  

School Information:   Andrew attends Katoosa Primary School.  He is in third grade.  He enjoys going to school. 

Church Information:  Andrew attends Christian Fellowship Church.  He likes going to church.

Child’s Home Duties:  Fetching water, collecting firewood, sweeping the courtyard, and digging.

Child’s Favorite Activities:  Singing.

Child’s Favorite Games:  Football.

Child’s Favorite Food:  Rice, millet (flour and water mixture), matooke (plantains), and beef.

Child’s Career Goal:  Andrew wants to be a pastor when he grows up.

Child’s Top Three Needs:  Clothes, shoes, and books.

Child is Happy When…  He sings.

Additional Information:  Andrew appears to be very malnourished with his skeletal figure.  The grandmother stays with three other orphans and two other adults-her daughter and her husband.  The husband is a drunkard and offers no support to the family.  Andrew has been tested for AIDS three times and was found to be negative each time.
